Anna Bitonti is a multimedia artist whose work spans animation, illustration, graphic design, writing, and painting. Currently based in Wisconsin, she is a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin--Madison, with degrees in Art and English: Creative Writing, and was named a Top 15 Notable Graduate of the Class of 2026.
Her work is rooted in visual storytelling, with a particular interest in illustration, books, comics, and animation. She is fascinated by how light, color, atmosphere, and composition can shape emotion, memory, and a sense of place within a story. Her background in creative writing informs her approach to visual work, whether developing a character, illustrating a narrative, or building a world.
She also works in graphic design and creative direction, with experience developing visual identities, publications, marketing materials, and campaigns across print and digital. She enjoys combining thoughtful design with illustration and storytelling, collaborating with creative teams, and creating cohesive visual worlds across different mediums.

Filmmaker
Animation combines everything Anna loves most: storytelling, visual art, and collaboration. She served as Lead Animator on BITTERSWEET, her first major animated short film, working closely with the director throughout production to bring the story to life. The film was selected by seven film festivals across the United States, including NFFTY, the world's largest youth film festival. She is currently in production on a second animated film and hopes to continue building a career in visual development and animation.
Designer
Anna’s work for the Wisconsin Union has included apparel, branding, promotional campaigns, and print/digital marketing materials. Her role with the Madison Film Festival has involved creative direction, apparel design, and developing visual identities across social media. Her design work has been recognized by the Association of College Unions International (ACUI), receiving a "Steal This Idea" Award.
Painter & Fine Artist
Working primarily in acrylic, she explores themes of memory, atmosphere, and place. Her paintings have been featured in two advanced undergraduate exhibitions at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where she developed a body of work centered on storytelling through light, color, and emotion. Her artwork has also been published in the Illumination undergraduate journal (2025, 2026), and has been honored with an award in the 2026 edition.
Writer
Writing has always been central to Anna’s creative process. From fiction and screenplays to personal essays and articles, she enjoys building characters, exploring imagined worlds, and crafting stories that complement her visual work. Her educational background in Creative Writing continues to shape her approach to artmaking.
